As you lose body heat faster in the water it's become pretty much the norm to wear neoprene footwear to help provide thermal protection during open water and wild swimming. The split toe design provides improvements in fit, allowing the hydro booties to stay in place, thus preventing water from entering. These booties provide great thermal insulation to your feet and thanks to their fit, they stay put and will not bother you while swimming.  Orca advise that the Hydro booties are best worn with a wetsuit to be most effective at minimising water ingress and worn under/inside the leg of the wetsuit which also does away with the need for nuisance velcro straps.

The Orca Thermal Hydro booties help provide insulation to your feet and feature glued and blindstitched seams with a long ankle design covering up to the lower calf area helping provide enhanced warmth retention. The mesh neoprene sole provides some added grip and protection underfoot.  

These Orca neoprene socks also feature Orca's Thermal X thermal lining to help encourage warmth retention by helping to trap heat and reduce heat loss throughout your workout.  This thermal lining also provides added comfort and prevents chafing.
